Chef Christopher Covelli

Chef Covelli, a native New Yorker of Italian decent, is a former Insurance Professional who followed his dream to become a recognized International Chef in the United States and Europe.

He is the chef and owner of L'Uva Restaurant, a 107-seat restaurant in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Prior to opening L’Uva Restaurant, he owned and operated a bed & breakfast, and worked at several renowned restaurants. He is also the Executive Chef Consultant for Cru Bistro & Wine Bar in Sarasota, Florida .

Chef Covelli has a very diverse approach to the culinary arts. His culinary expertise includes Classic French, Classic Italian, Classic Spanish and American Haute Cuisine. His background, training and living experience has enriched his interest in many cuisines.

He is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute in New York , where he studied with Chef Andre Soltner, the chef of Lutece Restaurant and also was under the direct supervision of Chef Alain Sailhac formerly of Le Cirque, the 21 Club and the Plaza Hotel in New York.  Chef Covelli is also the Senior Chef Instructor at the Toscana Saporita Cooking School in Lucca, Italy, where for the past 5 years he worked side-by-side with cookbook authors Sandra Lotti and Anne Bianchi. 

In November 2001, along with Chef Lotti, Chef Covelli prepared a spectacular dinner at the Italian Culinary Institute in New York City. In June 2002, he was invited back to prepare and demonstrate an Abruzzi dinner at the Italian Culinary Institute.

Chef Covelli had the honor of being invited as guest Chef to The James Beard Foundation in New York. He prepared a Cape Cod Christmas Feast Dinner for 100 guests, that included Chef Alain Sailhac, Senior Dean of the French Culinary Institute, which includes 1 of 4 times at the James Beard House.  

In November 2003, he was asked to participate as the special Guest Chef at the 5 th Annual White Truffle Festival in New York .

Chef Covelli was also a guest Chef for the 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th Annual Florida Wine Festival and Auction in Sarasota Florida . He prepared a 7-course dinner.  Featured Chef for Dupont Teflon web-site, Representing Chef for Delonghi America, Representing Chef for Jen Air/Kitchen Aid Events and many other Food Shows.  

Among his many accomplishments, Chef Covelli has also been featured in many well-known consumer publications like Italian Cooking and Living, Cuccina Italiana, Intermezzo magazine, Sarasota Magazine, SRQ, Scene Magazine, SNN TV, NBC News and others.
